For my teens inspired project I decided to choose a very simple piece and develop it into much more. I chose the very dull painting “The End” and turned it into an interesting sight to see. Therefore, I decided to add a variety of colors in this painting. I created a spiral where I added those colors to, in addition with the writing which was done in black acrylic paint. The rest of the empty space was filled with black as well to unify together the writing and give contrast along the many colors included in it. As I began this project I grew to become frustrated with every paint stroke. It was very difficult to even out the spiral but somehow, I managed. I tended to work quite backwards with this project; I was aware of what I wanted to do before I actually found a piece to be inspired by. I had the idea of doing something that I could incorporate writing into and that’s exactly what I did. I turned this into an opposite piece than it originally was. Once what was dark and dull, now colorful; THE END to The end is only a new beginning; the piece “The End” to my piece “It’s Not the End.”
